Saturday Night
03.02.03 - 3:12 a.m.

After all the loud music, I can hear the ocean in my ears.

I wanted some excitement in my life, and I guess I accomplished that to a degree tonight. Not completely though. I can't just lose control anymore - perhaps I'm just too old and rational now. Let me tell you what happened tonight.

It started out rather sanely. I went down to Chinatown with a group of friends. Indulged in some fabuuulous Chinese food. And then headed down to the Chicago Theater to watch MARGARET CHO. She was amazing, as always. Her show was entertaining, hilarious, political, and impactful. Anyone with half a brain should go see her.

The part I enjoyed most was after the show: a small group of die-hard fans staked out the stage door, and waited to see her. We waited for forty minutes in the cold, as white snow fell around us like flakes of dried semen. The effervense and camaderie was amazing. My group of friend and I chatted up some very attractive, very entertaining, but very gay men. Luckily our collective effort and hopeful thinking was not in vain. Margaret was gracious with the fans, and I got an autograph and photograph. Being such an admirer of her for so long, getting to see her was surreal. Its amazing to realize that this figure that you've quasi-worshiped is only 5'2 and extremely shy and tired.

After getting back to campus, and sharing my excitement with my friends, we headed to a frat party. God, did they remind me of my days at U.Va. At least now I know that if I ever get extremely desperate, that there's a hoard of first-year boys that are ready and willing.

All in all, it was a good night. And now, I can't help but smile as I listen to the soothing sound of my fingers against the keyboard.
